Summer interns celebrating with DREAM menteesThe DREAM Program began in Vermont in 1999. At this time, DREAM had not yet officially formed, but consisted volunteers from Dartmouth College and the residents of nearby Templeton Court Apartments in White River Junction. The concept of DREAM as a non-profit and a mentoring organization was just beginning. Following the development of DREAM’s Theory of Change, the organization initiated adventure and summer programming.

Five Adventure or Summer programs in Vermont:

Support for these programs comes from our offices in South Burlington (within Ben & Jerry’s Headquarters), Winooski (at the Elm Street neighborhood), Bennington (at the Willowbrook neighborhood) and White River Junction (at the Northwoods neighborhood).

Each of these adventure or summer programs runs original and traditional activities utilizing local resources, as well as DREAM resources from across the region and country.
