Where does my donation go to?
All donations to the Alumni Appeal go into the Alumni Fund. The purpose of the Fund is two-fold: to build an endowment to support DREAM's long-term success, and to distribute money now in support of DREAM's core values.
In the long-run, DREAM's growing and maturing alumni community will be one of the organization's largest and most important sources of funding. We are laying the foundations now to build towards this future success. Through large numbers of small donations by young alumni, we have built an endowment of over $40,000 so far, while distributing significant amounts of money to the organization and local programs each year.
This academic year, we intend to distribute between $5,000-$8,000 to the local programs. A grant review committee, composed of alumni, recently approved grants to support activities in three local programs: a trip to Pennsylvania, a community beautification day, and a kids' performance night for DREAM's brand new program in Bennington. Past years' grants have gone to activities ranging from trips to high adventures to camp programming.
