Grant Application

This grant round will fund projects for February through August of 2008. The application is available for interested parties to download (above) and read over the enclosed guidelines. An Alumni Sponsor can help you with grant writing. Have questions or don't know who your Alumni Sponsor is? Email Alumni Officers.

Suggested Timeline for Program Applications

November 12–18: Pick mentors to work on grants, contact your Alumni Rep, and think of possibilities.

November 19-30: Make final decision on proposal and write grant.

December 1-14: Finish and submit proposals.

Jumpstart your thinker:

In the past, all kinds of adventures have been proposed. From simple to complex, there’s no limit on what you want to do. One way to think of your proposal is, “What essential or cutting edge DREAM initiatives have we never tried and really want to see happen?” To get your brain going, here are some suggestions from past ideas:

Themes to think on: Community, Health, Diversity, & Education.

-Regional or High Adventure trips with educational experiences.
-Community beautification or playground construction.
-Community social events.
-Events involving multiple programs like never before.
-Family trips to Camp or other amazing locations.
-Projects at kids’ schools.
-Programming equipment.
-Trainings for kids in health issues, higher education, or careers.
-Diversity trainings or international dinners.

A few things to be aware of:

-This grant covers projects for February through August of 2008.
-Apply for funding between $100-$1000.
-These funds can only cover 1/3 of your total project budget. Donations that you leverage can count as the 2/3 contribution that you are responsible for.
-Your projects must start in 2008. Any money not spent in 2008 will cycle back into the grant fund. If you need an extension, you can apply to the Alumni Fund to keep your funding beyond the next grant cycle. No guarantees.
-Amendments: Sometimes projects need to change. Apply to the Alumni Fund for changes. Money allocations may be amended with your project changes. If your budget shrinks with your amendment, your allocation must shrink to be below 1/3 of the total budget.
