St. Michael’s DREAM Wins Unsung Hero Award
At the end of their first full school year, the St. Michael’s College students in the Franklin Square program were presented with the "Unsung Hero Award" by the Student Association Vice President. This is the first year that the award has been presented, and DREAM was the only organization presented with the award. In addition to DREAM, two individual students also received awards. The Franklin Square program has come a long way in the year and a half since it began. The program now includes over 20 mentoring pairs. The St. Michael’s mentors have proven themselves particularly adept at planning group activities every week, and they put on a mean spaghetti dinner fundraiser. The group also recently undertook its second major culminating experience: an overnight trip to Lake George.
