On January 24th, Mobius (The Mentoring Movement) kicked off the new year with a National Mentoring Month Celebration at City Hall. Mayor Peter Clavelle and UVM Men’s Basketball coach Tom Brennan started off the festivities with touching speeches, while seven Vermont mentoring pairs were honored on stage. A bunch of Elm Street DREAMers, accompanied by Central Office staff, attended the event to celebrate National Mentoring month in style! Kids and adults alike participated by getting their faces painted, eating delicious snacks, and enjoying the music of the Miller Trio. The highlight of the event, for many of the DREAMers anyway, was getting to meet the UVM Men’s Basketball team. The team and Mayor Clavelle happily joined us for a picture, and many DREAMers got the autographs of their favorite players. All in all, we had a great time and were happy to celebrate National Mentoring Month!
