Welcome to WAC 2008!
Winter Adventure Camp
Uumm… What's a WAC?!
WAC stands for Winter Adventure Camp. It’s a time for mentors, mentees (age 10+), and staff to try something completely new and outside their normal comfort boundaries. WAC can take on many different shapes depending on what a local program wants and needs. Perhaps it is a time for mentors and mentees to come together and have a great time building snow forts, drinking hot cocoa, and trying their skill at snow shoeing or cross-country skiing. It can also be a time for a mentor retreat with teambuilding activities, goofy songs, and an improv show at the firebowl. High Adventure with teens, Culminating Experience with everyone … the possibilities are about as endless as the number of snowflakes that will fall at camp this winter!!!

But What Happens at WAC?
Good question! Here’s a link to a sample WAC schedule that gives you a general timeline of a fantastically WAC-y weekend!
Create Your Own WAC
Here at the DREAM office we love seeing mentors taking ownership of experiences they share with their mentees. A great way to do this is to be a major player in creating a WAC that will provide experiences that expand boundaries and test limits for mentors and mentees alike.

And, of course, WAC must have a fantastically WAC-y theme. Here's a LIST OF THEMES to give your brainstorming a jump start. Combine 'em, change 'em, or create your own

Don’t forget: If you have any questions about WAC or any other aspects of Camp, contact your local program’s Camp Liaison!!! Don’t know who it is? Check out the Staff & Mentors Main Page.
