Alumni Appeal is Now!
Alumni and Honorary Alumni are the backbone of DREAM's ongoing efforts to support our local programs. Your generous donations to the Alumni Fund will enable it to provide super opportunities for DREAMers during the upcoming year -- and, being a 501(c)3, all donations are tax deductible. Plus, as an alum, you're eligible to direct this fund! How many organizations do you get to support AND direct? If you are a parent, friend of DREAM, corporate representative, etc., then you should jump over to the DREAM Inc. Annual Appeal page for non-alumni details.
Donation Options:
| Our on-line donations are processed by the Network for Good organization; your donation will be passed to us through their secure servers. |

You can also make donations the old-fashioned way by mailing checks to our Central Office, made payable to "The DREAM Program, Inc." |

What does my money go towards?
All money contributed by Alumni and Honorary Alumni (those who may never have been a mentor full time, but still shared in the fun and helped out the program) goes to the Alumni Fund. This fund is managed by the Alumni Organization -- which any alum can be a part of, including you! In turn, it's invested in socially responsible mutual funds, where the endowment will be built.
In the meantime a percentage of this money is used to support the Local Programs working with each community (such as culminating experiences) and the state-wide projects of the Central Office (such as Camp DREAM). The Alumni Org allocates these resources through a grant system, encouraging local programs to devise projects, apply for alumni funds, and fundraise matching funds from other sources. Once grants are submitted, the Alumni Org provides feedback and suggestions for each program.
Last Spring, alums granted $2,215 to local programs for a variety of activities: a day trip to Burlington, an overnight in Mystic, Connecticut, a High Adventure trip to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, neighborhood beatification projects, and a trip to the Great Adventure theme park.
This fall, seven programs proposed even more creative projects- they funded Forest Park Local Program’s trip to NYC, Franklin Square Local Program for their community learning center, Northwoods Hollow Drive and Birchwood for their community dinners, Elm Street’s trip to Montreal, Norwich’s skiing trip, and Armory Square’s playground building project.
Who's donated so far (earlybirds)?
We will track donors here as a way to thank everyone who has supported DREAM. Please check back often to see who has given and to see your name listed once you give.
