Adventures
    Unlimited

               Since the beginning, group Adventures
have been a staple in DREAM's programs. The ability of field trips to expand our horizons and inspire future dreams is unparalleled.

Our adventures (dubbed "Adventures Unlimited") are planned by mentors, mentees, and DREAM staff to exciting locations. Gorgeous local mountains, city centers, and cross-country  roadtrips to see the wonders of Redwoods or the remote corners of Alaska!

Whether the adventure takes us to the
neighborhood fire department, on an epic
college road trip, or to DREAM's
adventure base in Vermont, we have

        fun and learn together!

Skill Building

DREAM adventures first teach mentees new skills and then allow them to share those skills with other mentors, mentees, and community members.

All DREAMers have the potential to lead. Our mentees help plan adventures and learn to step out of their comfort zones to grow and lead.

Becoming a Leader

Growing in Confidence

As our mentees (& mentors!) go on adventures and step out of their comfort zones they grow in confidence: in their abilities and their trust in peers.

Local Adventures

Our local place-based adventures give our mentees and mentors the chance to explore their community. Usually just short walk away, local experiences like museums or nature trips allow DREAMers to learn through experiential education and take safe risks.

Fun past local adventures have included spending an afternoon at the local fire department, touring our mentors' college campus around the corner, and exploring how pizza is made in wood-fired pizza ovens. Regional Adventures

Like our Local Adventures, Regional Adventures take place near DREAM communities. However, unlike Local Adventures, Regional Adventures might require our mentors, mentees, and staff to drive an hour outside our community to explore an apple orchard, take a hike, or visit a museum.

Fun past Regional Adventures have included sailing on Lake Champlain in Vermont, and touring the New England Aquarium in Boston. To learn more about the DREAM regional adventures happening now in your area, connect with your local chapter.

High Adventures

High Adventures

High Adventures began around when DREAM began! These larger adventures are primarily for our older mentees, and are often planned out years in advance. Examples of these trips include journeys across the country to tour Los Angeles, adventures through the wilderness of Alaska, and fun filled retreats to regional zip lines or ski lodges. These trips allow our teenage DREAMers in particular time to reflect on their DREAM experience and other opportunities to imagine their future goals. In addition to recieving grants from DREAM national, local mentors typically fundraise for these trips in advance in order to make them accessible to all of our participants.

Whether you're apple picking and pumpkin carving, playing broomball or sledding — Camp DREAM is a place of fun and learning!
