About the Event
Authentic relationships are hugely important protective factors for mental health and positive brain development, particularly at a time when youth may be witnessing and absorbing national traumas (such as police violence against Black citizens and death and dying as a result of the pandemic). We invite you into a space for deliberate and intentional sharing and exploration. Learn and practice activities for authentic relating and connecting with each other and your mentees. Leave with practical activities for connecting intentionally with your mentees as well as concrete strategies for self-soothing and nervous system regulation.
Facilitator: Sam Kennedy. Sam is a former DREAM mentor and a licensed mental health counselor in private practice. He works with adolescents, young adults and individuals seeking help processing trauma, anxiety, depression or grief, using experiential modalities.
