In the wake of the horrible acts of violence that took place in Atlanta on March 17, where six Asian American women – eight people total - were murdered, CEO Mike Foote has released the following statement of solidarity, on behalf of our organization, with the Asian American community:
"At DREAM, we are invested in being a place that promotes and practices inclusivity, and especially supports those communities that are marginalized and targeted. The hate crime committed against this community is a reminder that we must continue to show up, listen, learn, and fight for the equity and safety of groups whose lives are cut short as a result of White Supremacy Culture.
As part of building awareness and taking action, we hope you will join us in supporting organizations on the front line of uplifting the Asian American community. DREAM has made a contribution to Asian Americans Advancing Justice and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, in support of their work of standing against racism, empowering and protecting Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Working People, including the incredible supports they have offered during COVID as well as to the undocumented community."
