We are deeply saddened to share that Karen Boisvert Lapan - friend, former DREAM board member, mother of three former DREAM mentees, remarkable community organizer, and tireless activist - has passed away.

Karen’s influence on DREAM runs deep. As an activist in her neighborhood, she helped us make the case to other caregivers that this new organization was something to trust and support. She strengthened our partnerships with housing management, built new community connections, and brought people together with warmth, optimism, and a steadfast “can-do” spirit.

On a personal note, working with Karen was both humbling and inspiring. So much of who we are today is rooted in her investment in this mission and her warm approach to helping us improve, always driven by a deep and unwavering love for her children. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
